Wood District, BSA

It is being requested that all Packs, Troops, Venturing and Exploring Units plan a one day recruitment of new members.  To do this it will take the entire District.  The date of this recruitment will happen September 9, 2010, Thursday at 7:00pm. 

All units are to get locations scheduled in their communities.  Instead of having roundup done in the evenings at the schools at different days and times, we are going to have it in one day and numerous locations in the district to assist possible recruits in finding a unit in their community.

Example: would be to get with your local fire stations and plan to have a fireman give the boys a tour of the facilities with the new or old Tiger leader.  This would also give the boys there first GO SEE IT in their book.

The District will provide one district member at each site to assist in the recruitment drive of 2010.

Peer to Peer Recruiting

Each Boy Scout who recruits a new Boy Scout * (with approved and paid application), will have his name put into a drawing to receive one of the following awards.

Four awards will be given:

$50.00 gift card of their choice

$50.00 gift card of their choice

$100.00 off Summer Camp **

$100.00 off Summer Camp **

All Boy Scouts will receive the Cenntennial recruiting patch

Only for Wood District Boy Scouts

*New Boy Scout is someone who is not transferring from Webelos or another Troop.

**This only applies to Camp Frontier for this year.

Troops going to out of council camps, for Boy Scout Summer camp will only recieve the gift card.  Program runs from September 2009 to late May 2010.
